Aspire Park
Apex provided structural engineering for PORT on the revitalized Aspire Park in Clinton, TN. The Exchange, a striking 300-foot-long roof structure, offers shade and a flexible space for community gatherings, including movie nights and farmers markets. The Onward and Upward Center is a 22,000 sqft facility that houses exhibit space, event space, park offices, maintenance facilities, and a restaurant, serving as a central hub for visitors.

Baker Creek Preserve Pavilion
Apex provided structural design for the Baker Creek Pavilion Structure. Steel columns and beams are the primary structural system with a lattice steel substructure providing support for the building skin. The pavilion serves as the gateway to the Urban Wilderness's network of trails, and has restrooms, picnic tables, a water-filling station, and parking.

KC Current Academy Building
The newest addition to the KC Current Training Complex, the Academy Building houses locker rooms, showers, training rooms, a meeting room, and a rooftop deck. Our team provided the structural design and special inspections for this building.

Apex provided the structural engineering design for the KC Current Training Facility, the first purpose-built training complex for a women’s professional sports team in the United States. Apex oversaw the structural design plans for the cardio and weight centers, training room, locker room, meeting rooms, and rooftop deck. Constructed with glulam beans and columns and cross-laminated timber floor and roof panels, it is the largest mass timber project in the Kansas City area. Apex also provided the special inspections for this complex.

Roth Trailhead
Apex Engineers donated the consulting time needed for this project of the School of Architecture, Design, and Planning at the University of Kansas. Apex oversaw the structural design for this rammed earth structure at the beginning of the Roth Trailhead. The project includes the wall, canopy, and an outdoor classroom. In April of 2013, this project was featured as the Kansas Building of the Week by American-Architects.

Blue Valley Rec
Design services for the renovations to this shelter at the Blue Valley Recreation Center. Complex site conditions required several site visits by our engineers. In the field, Apex provided consultation regarding steel repair for support column and the addition of masonry veneers to the existing columns.
